Since biriba wood is becoming increasingly rare, we have started to look for alternatives and we found these beautiful berimbaus are made in guatambu wood. This wood is slightly lighter than biriba, but the sound is as great as the traditional berimbaus -if not better. These instruments are nicely finished, the sticks are straight without knots (always a problem point when you bend the stick) and they come with shaped baqueta in masaranduba, caxixi, stone dobrao and a spare wire. If you bought one of our berimbaus before you know they are good, and you can believe us when we say these berimbaus in guatambu are even better. Yes they are more expensive, but you won't be disappointed!NB The current batch of berimbaus in guatambu is not stained in red as in the picture. They are just painted with transparent varnish.
